A peninsula of supertall towers built around one genuinely world-class hospital, one flagship luxury mall, and fifteen uninterrupted minutes to the airport.

Punta Pacífica is a small peninsula that decided, sometime in the early 2000s, to build vertically and never stop. The Trump Ocean Club's sail-shaped tower still anchors most people's mental image of the skyline from the Cinta Costera, but it's one of a dozen-plus supertalls sharing the same few blocks — a density of construction that has very little precedent elsewhere in the country. What makes the peninsula work isn't the height, though; it's that everything a household needs sits inside a fifteen-minute radius: the hospital, the mall, the airport, and the highway.
Hospital Punta Pacífica is the only Johns Hopkins Medicine International affiliate in Central America — a formal collaboration, not a marketing phrase, that brings Johns Hopkins protocols, second-opinion access and physician training into a private Panamanian hospital. It's the anchor of the country's medical-tourism traffic and the reason a meaningful share of Punta Pacífica's buyers are physicians, medical retirees, or families who simply want a serious hospital within walking distance. If you're evaluating Panama specifically for care access, our medical practices guide goes deeper on what's actually available here.
The country's flagship mall for genuine luxury retail — a "Luxury Avenue" wing carrying Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Hermès and Cartier alongside a large conventional retail floor, a food court, and a multiplex. This is the boutique-shopping answer Costa del Este's Town Center doesn't try to be.
Marea, a Peruvian-seafood room on Multiplaza's second level, is the best-known table directly on the peninsula; the surrounding food court and casual chains cover daily convenience without requiring a drive.
Built on reclaimed land just off the peninsula, Ocean Reef is positioned as a private marina and yacht-club development for boats transiting the Canal. It's a real, publicly announced project — but we haven't independently verified which residential towers, if any, currently carry deeded slip access, so treat any specific building's "private dock" claim as something to confirm before you sign, not something to assume.
Punta Pacífica's buyer skews toward people who've owned a house before and have decided they're done mowing a lawn: retirees drawn by the hospital, executives who want five minutes to the highway and the mall in the same trip, and investors chasing the peninsula's rental premium over less central addresses. It's Panama's clearest answer to "I want the view and the concierge desk," in a way that Costa del Este's corporate-corridor feel or Santa María's gated-community quiet don't try to replicate.
Both within a short drive of the peninsula, priced below Punta Pacífica's own tower premium.
